Pasta Bolognese

Description

Pasta Bolognese is an Italian–style dish consisting of a rich, meat–based sauce served over pasta. The sauce is made with ground beef, garlic, onion, carrots, celery, tomatoes, tomato paste, and seasonings such as oregano, basil, and bay leaves. A small amount of red wine and beef broth adds depth to the flavor. The sauce is simmered for a few hours until it has a thick, rich consistency. The pasta is then cooked and tossed with the sauce. Serve with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
